Role Overview
PortX is seeking a highly motivated Pre-Sales Engineer to partner closely with sales, and support customers throughout the sales cycle. You will play a critical role in understanding customer integration requirements, designing and presenting tailored solutions, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and acting as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in integration technologies who enjoys combining solution design, customer engagement, and strategic sales support.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives on account planning and opportunity strategy
- Drive solution selling throughout the sales cycle
- Gather and analyze customer integration requirements and business use cases
- Scope and design technical solutions aligned to customer needs
- Prepare and present solution proposals and technical recommendations
- Package and deliver product, platform, and solution demonstrations
- Develop case studies, technical whitepapers, and supporting sales collateral
- Build credibility as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers
- Collaborate with the Customer Engagement team to ensure effective knowledge transfer during handoff from sales to delivery
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong technical skills including coding/demonstrated experience leveraging AI in your work
- Experience designing and supporting integration solutions
- Strong understanding of APIs, services, and modern integration patterns
- Ability to create and present technical solution designs clearly and effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable leading whiteboarding sessions and engaging directly with customers

- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform high-level discovery and translate complex requirements into practical solutions and demos
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
