Who We're Looking For:

As an HR Generalist at Fintel Connect, you will play a key role in executing the company’s people strategy to support its growth and business objectives. You will manage key HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, ensuring that these processes align with the company’s goals and values.
In this role, you will work closely with leadership to foster a positive work environment and ensure a strong focus on employee engagement and well-being. You will also serve as a trusted resource for addressing employee inquiries, resolving workplace issues, and ensuring adherence to labour laws and company policies. Your contributions will be essential in driving the success of Fintel Connect by supporting HR functions that attract, develop, and retain top talent, while helping create a supportive and high-performance culture.

Please note: This is a fixed-term contract for 6-8 months to cover a leave of absence.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • High level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with integrity.
  • Proven experience in a HR role, with a strong understanding of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations and compliance.
  • Experience using HRIS systems and other HR tools to manage employee data and HR processes.
  • Ability to manage and resolve employee issues effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws, regulations, and HR best practices to ensure compliance across all HR activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with leaders and team members, contributing to the success of HR initiatives and the company.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, growing environment, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, startup environment is a plus.
  • Relevant HR certifications (e.g., CPHR, SHRM) are a plus.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
