Salary range: An annual salary range of $135,000 - $145,000 is what we expect to pay for this position, based on overall skills and experience.

What You’ll Do:
Position Summary
The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lender / Relationship Manager is responsible for originating, underwriting, and managing a portfolio of commercial real estate loans while developing and maintaining strong client relationships. This role focuses on driving new business, structuring financing solutions, and ensuring credit quality and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with real estate investors, developers, brokers, and other referral sources
- Proactively source new CRE lending opportunities (e.g., multifamily, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing tailored financing solutions
- Cross-sell bank products and services to deepen client relationships
Loan Origination & Structuring
- Analyze borrower needs and structure appropriate loan terms (construction, bridge, permanent financing)
- Prepare and present loan proposals, term sheets, and commitment letters
- Negotiate loan terms and conditions with clients
Credit Analysis & Underwriting
- Perform detailed financial analysis including cash flow, debt service coverage, and borrower financial strength
- Evaluate property performance, rent rolls, appraisals, and market conditions
- Partner with credit teams to underwrite and approve loans in accordance with bank policies
- Prepare and present credit memos for approval
Portfolio Management
- Monitor and manage an assigned loan portfolio to ensure asset quality and compliance
- Conduct periodic loan reviews, risk ratings, and covenant tracking
- Identify and address potential credit issues proactively
- Manage renewals, modifications, and refinancing
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and lending guidelines
- Maintain accurate and complete loan documentation
- Participate in audits and regulatory reviews as needed
What Do You Need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate lending or commercial banking
- Strong knowledge of CRE underwriting, financial analysis, and loan structuring
- Proven track record of business development and portfolio growth
- Familiarity with various asset classes (multifamily, office, retail, industrial, etc.)
- Strong financial analysis/credit skills
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines
- High attention to detail and risk awareness
Performance Metrics
- Loan production volume and revenue generation
- Portfolio growth and asset quality (delinquencies, charge-offs)
- Client retention and satisfaction
- Cross-sell success and relationship expansion
Technology Skills
- Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank’s applications.
- Proficiency in financial software, Salesforce, nCino, or other CRM system
