What you’ll do: As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the end-to-end accounts payable function for the Company, including all entities. You’ll ensure timely, accurate processing of payments, maintain compliance with internal controls, and support financial reporting and system integrity. Your work will contribute to the Company’s financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices, check requests, recurring rents/payments, and employee reimbursements
Ensure proper general ledger coding, payment authorization, and documentation
Maintain and amortize prepaid expenses
Prepare annual 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC filings
Manage sales and use tax requirements related to vendor invoices
Assist with updating AP policies and procedures
Provide support for monthly/quarterly expense analysis and variance reports
Record accruals for unrecorded liabilities
Support the AP Manager with systems/workflows and integration to the general ledger
Perform AP activities aligned with internal control requirements
What do you need?
5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a publicly traded bank or financial services company
Strong experience with AP and expense reimbursement systems and workflows
In-depth knowledge of AP policies, expense analytics, liability accruals, and general ledger allocations
Strong understanding of 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC reporting rules
Knowledge of sales and use tax regulations related to vendor invoices
Experience managing and amortizing prepaid expenses
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Able to manage competing priorities effectively
Willingness to work nights/weekends during reporting cycles
Nice to Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
Experience with AP workflow implementations
Familiarity with U.S. GAAP
Technology Skills:
Knowledge of banking operations and accounting systems
Familiarity with AP and expense reimbursement platforms
Proficiency in MS Office applications
