What You’ll Do: The Sr. Commercial Real Estate Credit Officer will oversee the Banks’ Credit functions of the Investment and Construction Commercial Real Estate Portfolio. This includes leading the credit underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio management functions for the bank’s Commercial Real Estate lending portfolio. This individual ensures high credit quality, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with the bank’s risk appetite. The role includes mentoring junior credit staff, maintaining relationships with relationship managers, and participating in credit policy development.
- Lead the underwriting and approval process for complex and high-value Commercial Real Estate loans, including construction, acquisition and refinancing transactions.
- Collaborate with Relationship Mangers to structure loans that balance client needs with prudent portfolio risk
- Review of Legal Documentation
What Do You Need?
- 15 + years of experience in the Commercial Real Estate Lending Banking Industry
- 10 years of experience with Construction, Bridge and Note on Note Lending experience
- 5+ years of Management experience
- An undergraduate degree in Business Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
- Prior individual Lending Authority
- Knowledge of Appraisals and completion of Appraisal Coursework
- Knowledge of Construction Terminology and Documents
- Maintain a strong understanding of local and regional markets and trends to proactivity mange portfolio
Technology Skills:
- Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank’s applications
- Experience with Salesforce and nCINO
- Real Estate Valuation Software and Cash Flow Modeling
- Construction Administration Data Management Software, “Built software”
