What you’ll do: Customers Bank is committed to providing exceptional banking services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Compliance Testing and Monitoring to join our team and oversee our compliance program.
Strategic Leadership:
Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Compliance Testing function, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall compliance strategy.
Lead and mentor the Compliance Testing Officers, fostering a culture of compliance and collaboration.
Serve as a key advisor to senior management on compliance-related matters, providing insights and recommendations.
Compliance Program Management:
Oversee the development and execution of the Consumer Compliance Testing Program, ensuring comprehensive risk identification, monitoring, and control.
Develop and oversee a comprehensive Compliance Related Third Party Testing Program to provide effective challenge to customer facing third parties.
Act as the Consumer Compliance Subject Matter Expert, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, including but not limited to TILA, Regulation Z, TISA, Regulation DD, and Reg CC.
Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, Business Management, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Control Functions to address and mitigate compliance risks.
Regulatory Compliance and Monitoring:
Monitor and implement new and revised laws and regulations applicable to loan and deposit products, ensuring the bank's compliance with federal and state requirements.
Conduct high-level compliance reviews and assessments, identifying trends and potential risks.
Prepare and present detailed compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Risk Management:
Lead proactive Compliance Testing for loan and deposit products, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Participate in the Annual Consumer Compliance Risk Assessment, ensuring comprehensive risk management across the organization.
Communicate compliance risks and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and executive management.
What You Need:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Compliance Testing or Internal Audit roles, with a strong focus on consumer compliance regulations.
Industry recognized certifications – (CRCM preferred)
Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a high-performing team.
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex compliance issues to senior management.
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Technology Skills:
Knowledge of Governance Risk Compliance tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
