About Coinbax
Coinbax builds payment controls for programmable money: programmable escrow, multi-party approvals, spend limits, reversibility, and policy enforcement for stablecoin and modern payments.
Banks and credit unions are being asked to support digital dollars, but the rails as they exist offer no approvals, no limits, and no recourse. We add the control layer institutions already expect from payments, without a rip-and-replace of the core they run today. Our platform is accessible to 7,400+ community institutions through our Jack Henry integration, and our smart contracts are independently audited by Consensys Diligence.
We closed our seed round in December 2025, led by BankTech Ventures with participation from Paxos, SpringTime Ventures, and Connecticut Innovations. We are a small, senior team shipping quickly with live design partners, including Finex Credit Union.
We run two products:
- Coinbax Platform, B2B infrastructure for banks, credit unions, processors, and fintechs. Compose smart-contract templates from a library of Coinbax Controls, then run and monitor every transaction they govern from one place.
- Coinbax Send, a consumer product for escrow-protected stablecoin transfers, wallet to wallet, at send.coinbax.com.
The Role
This is the first dedicated product leadership hire at Coinbax. Product sits inside our Research and Development organization, alongside engineering, and you will report to the CTO who leads it. Today, product decisions are split between the CEO and the CTO, and the pace we are shipping at has outgrown that arrangement. We need one person accountable for what gets built, in what order, and whether it is actually good.
We think of this role as the editor of the product. Engineering can ship, and increasingly AI can ship, but neither reliably holds the line on coherence. Screens drift. Patterns fork. Language stops matching between Coinbax Platform, Coinbax Send, and the docs. Your job is to be the single point of judgment that prevents that, while still moving at the speed a seed-stage company has to move.
You will own the product end to end: strategy, roadmap, discovery, specification, and the quality of the experience that ships. You will spend real time with developers, bankers, and credit union executives, because this product is only as good as our understanding of how a billion-dollar-asset institution actually approves a payment.
Reports to: Justin Seidl, CTO, who leads Research and Development. Partners closely with Peter Glyman, CEO.
What You Will Own
- Product strategy and roadmap across Coinbax Platform and Coinbax Send, set with the CTO on technical sequencing and delivery capacity, and with the CEO on commercial priorities and design partner commitments.
- The user experience, end to end. You are the final quality bar on flows, information architecture, interaction patterns, and product copy. You will hold the line on our design system and our terminology.
- Discovery with financial institutions. Design partner interviews, implementation feedback, and turning what you hear into scoped, buildable work.
- Specification and prioritization. Clear, decisive product definition that a small engineering team can execute against without waiting on clarification.
- Product and design hiring as we grow, including the design function.
- Cross-functional alignment with engineering, GTM, and compliance. You will sit inside the daily R&D rhythm rather than adjacent to it, and you will work directly with our institutional partners on integration requirements.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years in product management, including senior product leadership (Director, Senior Director, or VP) at a company where you owned outcomes rather than a backlog.
- Deep banking or digital banking experience. You have built consumer or business banking products at a bank, a challenger or digital-first bank, or a company delivering banking infrastructure. You understand accounts, payments, onboarding, KYC, disputes, and the operational reality behind each of them.
- Comfort inside a regulated environment. You have shipped alongside compliance, risk, and legal, and you treat those constraints as design inputs rather than obstacles.
- Zero-to-one and one-to-scale. You have launched a product from nothing and you have also grown one after launch. Early-stage or founding-team experience is a strong signal.
- Genuine design and UX craft. You have owned or built design systems, style guides, or component libraries. You can critique a screen precisely, not just approve it. In a company our size, you will sometimes be the designer.
- Excellent written communication. Our product is a set of controls with precise meanings, and the words on the screen carry as much weight as the code behind them.
- Hands-on operating style. We are a small team. This role has no product org to delegate to, at least not yet.
Nice to Have
- Blockchain, stablecoin, or digital asset exposure. Familiarity with self-custody, smart contract escrow, on-chain settlement, or stablecoins such as USDC and USDG. We do not expect you to arrive fluent. We do expect you to be genuinely curious and to get there quickly, and we will invest in bringing you up to speed.
- Experience with core banking platforms or the vendor ecosystem around them, particularly Jack Henry, Symitar, Banno, FIS, Fiserv, or Q2.
- Familiarity with card, ACH, wire, RTP, or FedNow rails and how institutions actually operate them.
- Experience selling into or building for community banks and credit unions.
- Background in developer-facing or API products.
What Success Looks Like
First 90 days. You have met our design partners, formed your own view of where the product is weakest, and taken ownership of the roadmap. Engineering is working from your specifications.
Six months. A fintech developer can sign up, understand what Coinbax Controls do, and get a governed payment running without talking to us first. That same path works for AI agents transacting programmatically, with onboarding, authentication, and control configuration exposed cleanly through the API. Coinbax Platform and Coinbax Send feel like one coherent product family, and the design system is enforced rather than aspirational.
Twelve months. The self-serve foundation you built carries into institutional onboarding, and time to first governed transaction for a bank or credit union has measurably dropped. You have shaped the product strategy that carries us into our next raise, and you have started building the team beneath you.
Why This Role
Stablecoin infrastructure is being built right now, and most of it is being built for crypto-native users who already understand it. Very little is being built for the institutions that hold most of the deposits in this country. That is the gap we are working in, and it is a product problem at least as much as a technical one.
You would be the person defining what the control layer for programmable money actually looks and feels like, on a team small enough that your judgment shows up directly in what ships.
