OVERVIEW
The Banking Operations Specialist I plays a key role in supporting the daily operational functions of both retail banking and Fintech-related services. This position ensures accurate transaction processing, maintains compliance with regulatory standards, and contributes to the overall efficiency of the operations team.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE
Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all assigned daily duties, ensuring standards and deadlines are met. Duties may include (but are not limited to) processing checks/ACH and/or Wires, account maintenance, CIP/KYC, issue resolution, inquiry escalation, exceptions, disputes, phone calls, balancing entries and/or obtaining approvals
Understand how to work between various bank departments and Partners to facilitate any team workflows
Communicate effectively with customers, both internal and external in a timely manner
Has the aptitude for proficient understanding of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Regulation E, Truth In Savings Act and Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP)
Has the aptitude for proficient understanding and performing operational tasks and the ability to follow procedures
Provide customer service and general support via phone or written communication to internal and external customers in accordance with Coastal Community Bank’s Core Values
Understand fraud indicators and be able to escalate to manager
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
May support in-office functions such as check printing and mail processing
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to interface with other departments, and operate in a fast-paced environment
Develop a basic understanding of products and services offered
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy a must
Cooperative and professional attitude
This role is a hybrid position and may require you to be in the office
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Previous Banking Operations experience a plus
Knowledge of wire transfer systems, payment networks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, AML, OFAC etc.) a plus
Previous fintech experience a plus
