OVERVIEW

The Treasury Management Sales Officer (TMSO) serves as a strategic sales leader and subject-matter expert within the Treasury Management Department. In addition to driving individual production, this role provides leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to Treasury Management Relationship Specialists and partners closely with Retail and Commercial leadership to drive sustainable growth. This role plays a critical part in shaping treasury management strategy, elevating sales effectiveness, and ensuring consistent delivery of Coastal products and services across the organization and within the business community.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead by example by consistently meeting or exceeding individual treasury management and credit card processing sales and fee income goals.
  • Partner with the Treasury Management Director to develop, execute, and refine sales strategies, goals, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Commercial Lenders, Relationship Managers, and Retail Managers on complex treasury management opportunities.
  • Support the design, implementation, and optimization of treasury management services for key clients.
  • Promote cross-sell opportunities and collaboration across departments.
  • Identify market trends, competitive intelligence, and product gaps to inform strategy and product development.
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to Treasury Management Relationship Specialists and other team members.
  • Participate in onboarding and training of new treasury management sales staff.
  • Lead team meetings to share best practices, sales techniques, and product expertise to elevate overall team performance.
  • Assist leadership with performance feedback, skill development, and succession planning.
  • Client & Community Leadership
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of complex, high-value treasury management relationships.
  • Lead advanced sales presentations, relationship reviews, and solution design for larger or more sophisticated clients.
  • Act as a visible ambassador for Coastal within the business community through networking, events, and industry involvement.
  • Onboarding & Implementation
  • Coordinate client onboarding and implementation activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Treasury Management services.
  • Collaborate with operations, product, and sales teams to resolve client or process issues.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure departmental activities adhere to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews as needed.
  • Stay current with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices for Treasury Management products.
  • Support risk mitigation initiatives in collaboration with Compliance, Fraud, and Risk Management teams.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Treasury Management, treasury services, business development or commercial banking.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support business growth and process improvement initiatives.
  • CTP accreditation preferred but not required.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Solid understanding of Treasury Management products (ACH, Wires, RDC, Positive Pay, Lockbox, Credit Card Processing, etc.).
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities.
  • High proficiency in banking systems, Treasury Management platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and influence others without direct authority when necessary.
