RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE

  • Lead fintech partner technical scoping, including discovery sessions, funds-flow design, sandbox setup, UAT, and go-live coordination.
  • Help maintain partner-facing APIs, authentication, and webhook flows, ensuring clear documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman collections) for developer usability.
  • Translate partner business requirements into detailed solution designs and PRDs, working with Coastal Product and Compliance to align with contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with processors, networks, and third-party vendors on certifications, file specs, and program modifications.
  • Define and validate funds flows, settlements, GL postings, and reconciliations, enabling accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering on schema design, data mapping, and ETL pipelines to support reporting, reconciliation, and analytics.
  • Support due diligence and technical risk reviews during the fintech partner evaluation process.
  • Represent Coastal at partner meetings, articulating technical and compliance capabilities in clear terms.
  • Provide technical consultation on new BaaS product features, shaping the roadmap based on partner demand and market trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of API design and integration (REST, webhooks, authentication methods like OAuth2/JWT).
  • Familiarity with payment systems and banking rails such as ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, and card issuing/processing.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (KYC/AML, BSA/OFAC, PCI-DSS, data security).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (AWS/Azure/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging).
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and fintech partners.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of technical experience in fintech, payments, banking technology, or SaaS/API integration.
  • Prior experience at a sponsor bank, card issuer, processor, or BaaS provider strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in partner/enterprise technical integration projects, including discovery, UAT, and go-live.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, data mapping, and financial reconciliation workflows is a plus.
