WHAT YOU'LL DO
As Manager I – BaaS Program Operations at Coastal, you will oversee the operational tasks related to our BaaS Program Operations Department. You will manage daily operational tasks, coordinate workflows, handle cash settlements, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and supervise staff. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a thorough understanding of fintech or BaaS operations, and the ability to mentor and supervise a team.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT
· Perform, manage, monitor, and maintain program flow of funds, cash settlements, and account reconciliation/balancing. Perform account certifications.
· Prepare, post, and review daily journal entries for BaaS Programs and/or provide oversight for this function.
· Own, coordinate, and monitor assigned workflows to ensure standards and deadlines are met.
· Maintain a thorough understanding and proficiency in all daily operational tasks for each functional area of the Program Operations Department.
· Develop and implement efficiencies and best practices. Own and maintain department procedures. Make recommendations to management.
· Manage and supervise assigned Program Operations staff; provide escalation support to departmental employees.
· Research and solve high-complexity problems.
· Interface with other bank departments and BaaS partners to facilitate program maintenance, resolve issues, and escalate inquiries. Support department employees in this function.
· Prepare audit materials and responses. Ensure compliance with risk controls and SOX compliance.
· Provide support for risk assessments.
· Mentor, coach, and set an example for team members, furthering their skills and knowledge while improving their overall engagement level.
· Participate in partner meetings, internal committees, and projects.
· Maintain proficient knowledge of rules and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Regulation E, Truth In Savings Act, and Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP). Adhere to all regulations and compliance policies.
· Act as a liaison between departments to ensure optimum communication.
· Provide backup support for other areas of the department as needed.

· Proficient in preparing and reviewing financial statements and journal entries.
· Advanced ability to synthesize raw data. Ability to manage funds flows and ensure accurate financial accounting and reconciliation.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· 2+ years of relevant experience within the Fintech, BaaS or Banking industry.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
· Demonstrated experience in managing operational tasks and supervising staff; 3+ years is preferred.
· Strong understanding of BaaS (FinTech) operations and financial regulations with a technical background in bank operations, cash settlement and reconciliation, accounting, and data analysis.
· Understanding of the application of advanced accounting principles as they relate to BaaS programs and funds flows.
· Advanced understanding of bank operations (ACH, Wires, Loan Servicing, Credit Charge Offs, Loan/Receivable Sales and Purchases, etc.)
· Previous experience navigating and processing transactions within a core bank system. FIS Horizon is preferred.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formula creation, data analysis, and pivot tables. Proficiency in VBA is preferred.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, including PowerPoint, Teams, and Word.
· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and SharePoint for data visualization and document management, respectively.
· Familiarity with relational database systems and data applications is preferred. (e.g., Snowflake, Looker, etc.)
· Relevant certifications in financial operations or compliance (e.g., CAMS, CPA) are a plus.
· Experience with a ticketing system is preferred. (e.g., Clickup).
