WHAT YOU’LL DO AT COASTAL
Responsible for building relationships with new customers and servicing and expanding relationships with existing customers. Assess customer needs and suggest or promote alternative products or services and refer to appropriate area. Provide timely and accurate resolution of account related issues. This position requires the ability to provide prompt, accurate, friendly service and to communicate clearly and professionally in accordance with Coastal’s Core Values. This position is responsible for processing a variety of customer account transactions involving the receipt and payment of money according to existing procedures and systems. This position is also responsible for identifying customer needs and suggesting solutions through referrals.
This position is expected to travel to all of the branches in our network. It is a temporary position to help with staffing coverage during November and December.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT
· Provide customer service in accordance with Coastal’s Core Values
· Interview and assess customer and non-customer needs and suggest appropriate products or services
· Conduct phone follow up and actively raise customer awareness of bank products and services
· Maintain an organized system for tracking and following up on customer needs
· Provide customer referrals to Merchant Services, Commercial and Consumer Lending, Cash Management.
· Provide resolution and follow through on customer issues and concerns
· Complete account documentation according to bank guidelines
· Maintain current knowledge of banking rules and regulations
· Represent Coastal in a positive and professional manner
· Provide back-up to the tellers and/or assist with operations duties as assigned
· Processes a variety of customer transactions using judgment regarding the validity of transactions; refers questionable transactions to a supervisor
· Receive commercial and individual checking deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, and issues receipts
· Accepts checks for cashing or paying; verifies endorsement, validity, and funds; makes change
· Receives savings deposits; pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signatures
· Receives loan payments and credit card payments
· Sells money orders, cashier’s checks, US Savings Bonds, travelers checks, gift cards, foreign currency and credit card
· Receives US Savings Bonds for redemption and payment
· Balance Teller drawer
· Maintain current knowledge of banking rules and regulations
· Consistently refer bank products and services at every opportunity
· Answers the telephone.
· Maintains control of cash and keys at all times to prevent exposure or potential loss to bank.
· Work positively and proactively as a member of the Coastal Team.
· Compliance with all regulatory requirements
· Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
· Outgoing, professional attitude with customers, prospects and co-workers
· Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
· Required to handle multiple tasks at the same time
· PC experience navigating in a Windows environment and using multiple applications
· Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure timely and effective communication with customer until request/issues have been resolved
· Previous sales experience, preferably of financial products
· Basic internet skills
· Previous banking experience preferred
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
