About BankTech Ventures

BankTech Ventures (BankTech) is the leading strategic investment fund transforming the future of banking and comprises over 100 community banks as the limited partners in the fund. The General Partners include 2 high-performing community bank leaders, the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), and a serial fintech entrepreneur and investor. The BankTech team sources, evaluates, de-risks and invests in the best technology companies to make banks more efficient, profitable and competitive. Our first fund closed in August 2022 with $116MM in committed capital and is tracking as a top-decile performer with a portfolio of 24 companies. We’re now launching our 2nd fund, continuing to invest with flexibility across stages and structures. Our initial check size ranges from $1-4MM, and we can lead, co-lead or strategically participate, depending on the opportunity.

Must-Haves

• 4-6 years in financial investing (VC/PE/Buyside) with demonstrated deal leadership
• Track record identifying, evaluating and closing early-stage investments
• Deep understanding of banking/fintech business models and technology stacks
• Financial modeling expertise and term sheet experience
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical banking executives

Bonus Points For

• Direct banking or fintech operational experience
• Understanding of community banking's unique challenges and opportunities
• Experience with AI, mobile, blockchain and other emerging technologies in financial contexts
• Network of founders and co-investors in the banking and fintech space

A Typical Week Might Include:

• Meeting with 3-5 promising founders solving critical banking problems
• Collaborating with our community bank partners to understand their technology needs
• Leading due diligence on a Series A payment processing platform
• Preparing an investment memo for our investment committee
• Strategizing with a portfolio company on their bank go-to-market approach Representing BankTech at a fintech conference or community banking event

Compensation

• Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience
• Target bonus at 20%+ of annual salary
